For the past three years, La Soubirane, a female polyphonic trio from the Quercy region, has been enchanting the churches of the Lot during the Christmas season.
This year, the spotlight is on Occitan, with a repertoire even more deeply rooted in our stories and traditions. Journeying between sacred and traditional songs, La Soubirane invites listeners to both reflection and laughter, to introspection and joy.
In this special moment of Christmas, the singers of the trio share tales of the elders—stories of shepherds and stars to be consulted—shifting gracefully from joyful, down-to-earth closeness with the audience to the mystical harmony of their voices.
The program will feature Occitan songs (from Béarn, Provence, Quercy, and Aveyron), spanning from the 3rd to the 19th century. Carefully curated, this repertoire invites the audience on a journey to the heart of tradition and the sacred—a timeless interlude filled with emotion and spirituality.
A moment of vibrant magic.
